Kitty and I have been having so much fun running Code: Swap—but with busier schedules, and lots of plans—we could really use an additional member on the team.

Well, I have my room at Kadic Academy, a room all by myself. I'm sort of glad I don't have a roommate, getting to know new people is not something I've done in a while, and it will make it easier to sneak out at night if I need to. But at the same time, it would be nice just to know someone's there.

Tomorrow morning we'll be testing out the vehicles Jeremie has been working on for the past few weeks, and then there's history class and a field trip into the forest near the school to draw plants. I'm nervous, and excited. I'd probably feel better if it were a computers class, haha.

One of the main reasons for my hyperfixation on this stupid show was that XANA was just. A Horror Movie Villain, inside a kid's action show. THIS THING HAS ATTEMPTED TO MURDER THESE CHILDREN MORE TIMES THAN I CAN COUNT! IT IS BASICALLY THE SKYNET AND A.M. OF THE CARTOON WORLD!

Also, I love that you made it a crossover with FNAF. FNAF was my first ever fandom growing up and one I've seen from it's literal roots as a couple of indie fangames into the giant franchise it is now. Plus, I love how perfect XANA and the general concept of FNAF mesh together and the direction you took it in particular.

(And crossovers were the entire reason I had my other fandoms listed. What I write mostly IS crossovers and I love crossovers in general, so I'm always trying to give people ideas on creative ones they could make for me that include stuff I actually like)

The fact that Ulrich is the night guard is sending me, and is that Puppet-Ennard mashup based on William? Also, the fact that you gave the animatronic FACEPLATES is just *chef's kiss*. This is so amazing and hilarious to me, I love it.

Been working off and on on my imaginary TWST event called, "Into the Grid".

Idia and his companions get sucked into the game world and have to save it from a rogue AI, and keep it from bleeding into the real world, or something...I dunno. I just really wanted to do something heavily inspired by the League of Legends arcade skins and Code Lyoko.

These are just the messy concept sketches I need to finish up. Hoping to get their splash art sketched up soon.

I hope you don't mind me picking at your brain for the Code Lyoko stuff you've made. Mostly about the classes, are there just three? Force, Strike and Creative or are there more. Also if it's just three it creates a well fitting fighter-mage-thief dynamic which is very cool. And going off that Im assuming that for the OG designs William is Force class, Odd, Yumi and Ulrich are Strike Class and Aelita is obviously a Creative Class Did I get that right?

I'd love a chance to ramble about this concept rn, so sorry if this is a little long. I'm not completely married to there only being three, but for the time being, yes.

The three classes were designed as a way for the supercomputer to appropriately assign powers and weapons that complimented the natural abilities of the person being scanned (granted this was 80s technology and even though Hopper and his team were operating with some SCP-level tech, it still wasn't always exact or perfect)

Creativity Class: Assigned to individuals who were not particularly strong or fast but whose CT scans showed enhanced activity in the creative regions of the brain. Typically given weightless energy-based weapons and environmental abilities. Distinguished by elf ears (because Hopper was a nerd and a Tolkien fan in his youth). Examples: Aelita, Jeremie, Milo (William's Clone) Hopper

Force Class: Assigned to individuals who show promising physical strength. They are not given any secondary physical features but are fitted with body armor and weapons that best align with their developed muscles. Their powers are designed to assist in combat if needed, but take a lot of strength to wield for very long. Examples: Yumi, Ulrich, William, Jim

Strike Class: Assigned to individuals who have more agility, natural energy or above-average senses. They are given lightweight or long-range weapons meant for quick and quiet offensive measures. Their natural abilities are often 'boosted' and their secondary powers are designed to assist their party outside of combat, rather than during. These powers, however, take a lot of energy from the supercomputer and have to be used sparingly (Odd's future-vision makes use of the machine's quantum-computing to map out probable event outcomes down to an atomic level, effectively being a Micro-Return-To-The-Past command). Strike-class avatars are distinguished by animalistic features such as tails/horns/claws/etc. Examples: Odd, Sissi

(Strike-Class is very ADHD-coded)

Across all classes, most of the avatar-assets that were pre-programmed into computer are of Japanese or Indonesian origin (An incredible coincidence for the Lyoko Warriors since Kadic Academy taught Pencak Silat)

Big City Greens Headcanons!

Pretty much the whole green family are autistic.

Gramma has a private criminal record, especially in other countries.

Tilly owns a butterfly book that Bill got for and often talks about butterfly fun facts.

Bill sometimes shows a photo of his family to people and talks about how he loves them.

Remy introduced anime to Cricket and Tilly, Cricket's favorite is Pokémon, Tilly's favorite is Little Witch Academia while Remy and Vasquez loves DragonBall and Code Lyoko.

Bill is Bisexual, he's pretty shy about opening up his bisexuality, but his family supports him, especially Cricket and Gramma.

Gloria still keeps the homemade Eiffel tower that Cricket made.

Bill and Remy love listening to ASMR.

Nancy is also Bi, Gloria is Pan while Gramma is a ally.

Chip's favorite movie is American Psycho.

Andromeda loves the X-files.

After the events of Quiet Please, The greens still practice ASL.

The Boy in the Computer: Jeremie and Aelita swap roles. Main story is DONE, side stories are WIP (titled 'The Girl From the Outside').

Echoes of a Different Life: Derivative of TBITC, where Michel and Sophie's plan with Lyoko healing Jeremie didn't work. WIP, planned for TGFTO.

The Stars In Your Eyes: Derivative of TBITC, where I make the Jerlita Sapphic like SAE as mentioned below. WIP, planned for TGFTO.

The Drifter: Derivative of TBITC, where Final Round goes differently, as XANA destroys Lyoko before Jeremie is devirtualized. WIP, planned for TGFTO and idea from Ani and their Gone Wrong AU.

Backup Programs: Derivative of TBITC, where a pre-evil backup XANA exists. WIP, planned for TGFTO and idea from Boxy.

Code: MEMORY: Aelita and Anthea swap roles; my beta reader helped me out a lot with this one. Has sequel tiled 'The Healing of Memory'. DONE, unless my beta reader gets more ideas.

The Missing Piece: Jeremie and Laura swap roles; an appreciation piece for all the work Jeremie actually does in the series. DONE, but planning a story with an alternate perspective.

Silver and Gold: Jeremie and Aelita are childhood friends and both get tangled up with Lyoko, in more ways than one. WIP.

Lyokowarrior Sissi AU: A world where Sissi actually followed Ulrich into Lyoko when she was first offered, replacing Yumi in the group. WIP, has no official title yet.

Sapphire and Emerald: A universe where Jeremie was born as a girl; Sapphic Jerlita basically. DONE.

Bridge Across the Milky Way: Yumi is the girl trapped within the supercomputer, Ulrich is the one who finds Lyoko, Jeremie is the kid with arguing parents, and Aelita is the one who has pressure from family, plus another swap or two. WIP, and coming along nicely thanks to my beta reader.

The True AI AU: A world where the revelation that Aelita is a human also includes Jeremie as the AI. WIP, has no official title yet.

The Best Kept Secret: Jeremie has a secret about his body, and Aelita ends up finding out what it is by accident. WIP.

~Fullmetal Alchemist~

For Hope, I'd Give My Everything: Roleswap between Edward and Alphonse, among others. Lots of angst, WIP.

Great Divide: Edward and Alphonse are parent-trapped in a modern universe, and there's a reason for things being this way. WIP.

The Space Between: Alternate ending to CoS where Edward stays in Amestris, and Alphonse has a secret. WIP.

~Kingdom Hearts~

Destiny's Embrace: Kairi wakes up in a strange new world where everything seems too perfect to be true. DONE, but may rewrite it.

Days Lost: Kairi grows up with the Wayfinder trio, and things happen differently according to her memories of them. WIP.

Destiny's Twist: The Kingdom Key goes to Kairi after Sora turns into a Heartless to save her in KH1. DONE, may add a sequel once KH4 comes out.

Overturning Fate: A ReMind AU where Xehanort gives Kairi the chance to save herself. WIP.

The Cycle of Fate: Ventus hides in Kairi's heart and the cycle of fate hits the Destiny Trio harder than in canon. WIP.

Don't Wake Me Up: Kairi is dragged into the whole Xehanort-induced nightmare mess too, branching off from DDD. WIP, but can be read on my AO3.

~The Outsiders~

Dawn Goes Down to Day: Pony wakes up the hospital only to find that everything he wrote in his theme was just a dream. WIP.

Shaken Up: Pony is jumped that day instead of Johnny. WIP.

So Eden Sank to Grief: Pony dies in the hospital instead of Johnny. DONE.

A Different Sunset: Dally and Johnny survive the events of the book. DONE, but may add another entry eventually.

Modern AU: Takes place in modern times and centers on the topic of the gang's mental health, starting with Pony's. WIP, but can be read on my AO3.

~Crossovers~

Code: MIRACULOUS: A world where the CL characters are placed in the world of Miraculous Ladybug, and Jeremie finds himself as the Guardian replacing Waldo/Franz after the man mysteriously vanishes. WIP.

Code: HEARTS: Lyoko falls to darkness in Kingdom Hearts 1, and XANA finds itself teaming up with Xehanort. WIP.

You've been posting a lot about code lyoko recently (I think that's what it's called) and it kind of unlocked core memories for me. But I only have vague memory of it (I think I was pretty young when it aired on tv). Do you mind explaining the premise of the show and what happens again? I remember being a little obsessed with it and it bothers me that I don't remember anymore.

Glad I've accomplished my one mission in life of unlocking someone's core memories😎Nah fr, it's nice to come across someone else who's aware of a series as niche (and pretty old, God) as this one, especially in this day and age.

So, to make a long story short, Code Lyoko is a French animated series centered on group of middle schoolers fighting a computer virus. Riveting, ain't it-

Jeremie Belpois, a computer and science nerd who stumbled upon a super computer hidden in an abandoned factory on the outskirts of his dorm school, turns the computer on out of curiosity. On it, he discovers a virtual world called Lyoko housing not only a slew of creatures, but a girl named Aelita. Through a series of unfortunate events, Jeremie eventually involves three unlikely classmates of his: Ulrich, Odd, and Yumi, and they unanimously make it their mission to someday bring Aelita out of the super computer, all while keeping the situation a secret from anyone else. To thwart their plans, a virus named XANA, which also came to life when Jeremie turned the super computer on, seeks to bring harm to them and their world, and the only way to combat it is by traveling to Lyoko.

Obviously there's more to the story than that, but that's the gist lol.

The series' largest selling point was it's clever mix of 2D and 3D animation, used as a way to differentiate between the real world of France and the virtual world of Lyoko. It's unique animation, art style, and storytelling when compared to any other French animated series that came out around the same time, made it stand out enough to end up on Cartoon Network.

There are some elements that don't hold up quite well now, and some that didn't hold up at all in '03, but there's clearly something to it that makes it worth watching.

Question 9 for TALW

9: Were there any alternate versions of this fic? In regards to my main continuity/body of work...no. While I've had different ideas over the course of development and different scenes, I've more or less kept true to the original concept I created for TALW. From beginning to end, I knew who the members of the team would be, what kind of basic superhero type I wanted each to be, the kind of world I wanted to turn Code Lyoko into, and the basic concept for how I wanted XANA and other villains to function in TALW's narrative. Other people's works, however? Oh boy...

Ever since I showed TALW to a small collection of fellow fanfic writers (Including you, Ani, so don't even act like you're innocent), fan variations and intepretations have been coming from them like hot cakes. Some are mixing of other AUs or works with TALW, others are crossovers with specific TALW characters (For example, @miracleofdatabase's Jeremie Mashup Comic has the TALW version of Jeremie), and there are even some that are just straight up AUs inside of AUs of TALW.

For example, there's a version of TALW where, instead of just Alex being the only canon adjacent OC added to the fic, there's a whole squad of kids coming from us. And, in a variant of this specific breed of AU, one of those OCs take the place of a canon TALW character who was going to essentially die and turn into a minion of XANA after Eva Skinner fucked her over. This event kind of breaks the rest of the OCs and turns them into vigilantes. AND THERE'S EVEN A CROSSOVER OF THAT, where this AU of an AU's version of @erkolblinguispretre's OC and mine got thrown into the world of @the-writing-artist's Jerlita roleswap AU. It's not even a TALW variation of it, it's just the roleswap AU, canon-adjacent-ness and all, and two idiot vigilantes from a world that is WAY more dangerous and crazy than anything the canon LWs had to deal with are just. chilling. menacingly.

So, in terms of my own canon material...no. In terms of fan content? YES, YES, AND MORE YES!
